HSM Interpretive Learning Centre
The Historic Saugeen Métis Interpretive Learning Centre first opened its doors in May 2013. Since that time we have welcome visitors from all over the world including the United States, Europe, Australia, and across Canada. The Centre is open to the public and serves as both a community meeting place and a public learning center. Visitors can learn about the historic Métis community who lived, fished, hunted, trapped, and harvested the lands and waters of the Bruce Peninsula, the Lake Huron proper shoreline and its watersheds. Artifacts on display include Métis clothing, tools, bead work, wampum and so much more. Children are invited to try dressing-up like a Métis with a capote, sash and toque. The Centre has been honored to welcome a variety of local school classes interested in learning more about the local Métis history.
The Interpretive Centre also plays host to a variety of environmental and cultural workshops. Please see our News & Events page for more details. Admission is free
